Berserk
There is two mood filling the bunk this week.

The puzzle fighters are busy fixing one jigsaw puzzle after another. After completeing one from a comrade from another bunk, they completed another more difficult one of a snow filled village. At the rate of 250+ pieces/day, upkeep by one of the very patient comrade, who can spend his entire afternoon pieceing the puzzle through a trial and error method, we took on a new task. This one is different as we took the puzzle from the owner, without his total comcern...

But what lurks behind this joy is Berserk. Rage is stacked up and realeased in the most inpropriate manner.

The one who's boot was smeared with mud, suffer one more lost. His boot lace was cut. The victim had no conflict with the suspect in anyway, and this can only be a result of a show of power by the black shit in the camp, i.e. the Indians.

This event had affected on a number of us. One of them even shouted "I hate Indians" in the open.

I don't have the gut to do that, no matter how much I hate them.

Then, a forgetful and clumsy food buyer angered a hungry and gastric stricken comrade. A big and not so intelligent miscommunication made by a very intelligent fool. The fool try to make up by buying food later in the night, but the gastric stricken guy is too much in agony, and was pissed off.

Fortunately, they did not speak to each other, and when the anger is gone, fine day carries on. They are most probably enjoying a meal right now some where (and I drop out as I wanted to write this when it is fresh).

Yet, one is still very much fill to the bream, and berserk was inevitable.

He scolded me quite angrily when I gave the wrong info to him (which is very common due to my short attention spans).

He ram and slam the door when he is in a hurry to breath some civil air, knowing he has COS duty tommorow (the door is slightly damaged as a result), and the guys in the bunk were playing behine the door at that time.

He swear and curse the person who owe him money, in some of the most irrational way (which we hope he don't do it).

I know, and could sense that it was just not his day recently. An embarassing father among relative, a lousy schedule that hender his training for his new found indulgence, and even possible chalking up of unhappy events in the past two years, had definately increased the heat.

He is going through what I think, what I exprienced in my down days.

I would go berserk, crying without my own notice, hitting people which I think I hate and other nasty acts, all with or without my own consciousness, in the name of letting off my anger.

Yet, they are the most incorrect way to do so.

I have no intention to point out other's miatake here. I am writing this down to remind myself, and learn from the people around us.

I had learn to control my temper, and tolerate as much as possible, especially people living under the same roof as you. This is how I try to tolerate some small habits which my room-mate-to-be is doing now.

I just hope all of us can learn to tolerate a little bit more for the people you have close approximity to.

Norse berseker will have a cold down period after every berserk. Hope my comrade can realise something during this cool down and read this blog with a positive mindset.

And be reminded, if anyone is going to snap, I will be the first. I am, the real berseker.

hehehehehehehhe.....hehehehehehehehehheheheheh.... heheheheheheeh.......

164 days and counting... (and I hope I dun go berserk in the remaning days...)

Duh...
This blog is written on my bro's PC. Mine is on the verge of breaking down. Internet connection got problem, clock jumps all over the place, and a hell of problem popping her and there. Afterall, this is a system that had served me for the past five years.

Back in camp, one of my comrade brought back a set of mahjong.

Yet, the first thing had to do back in camp, is to take part in this nonsensical Change-Of-Command Parade. We have to perform silly drill, under the command of our fucking Regimental Sergeant Major.

Why we hate him? He is brainless.

He ask people to cut the flowers of the trees away, so as to prevent them bearing fruits and dirty the garden.

Hey! The more you cut, the bigger and more they grow! This is basic science!

And hence, the whole day is spend uncer the sun and rain (if you have noticed, it have been raining for the past 5 days), and not at the comfort of my bunk, practising mahjong. (for your info, I just learnt to play this new year)

sign... What a boring way to start the year...

End and Begining
The lunar year of goat is going to end in a few hours to go.

My Bronco course had ended too, leaving me with a license to drive that armour vehicle on every road condition. In a more correct form, it means I am legal to drive, and any accident is my own problem,

I also came back from my battlion run today morning. I had to go all the way to the south of Singapore, and run around the park for less than an hour,

And now, I am a little drunk after two big mug (the most acessible container at home) of red wine.

Yet this mark the start of many things to do.

My PC is giving me a lot of problem. My clock is going haywire. The internet connection only allows me to surf smoothly for less than ten minutes. I will need to fix it after New Year.

I also have to start looking for a part-time tution job before my saving go blank.

Then again, I better start my revision of my school works if I want a smooth time for first year in university this July.

Collage
At the start of the month, I always ended up spending a lot on Internet shopping, buying video or audio disc, that could clock up to 100s of dollars. But this save me a lot of money on transport and food (as I must get something to eat everytime I go out...)

My latest addition to my DVD collection this month are Utada Hikaru's MTV Unplugged and a movie by the title of Love Collage.

I bought the movie foremost because of the fact that Hirosue Ryoko-san in the leading role. She has the ideal look of my partner (and my first crush loom like her... with mixture of Sakai Noriko, my idol forever, my reason t catch ju on 2...)

But this is a movie about photography, a story about one's selfish perception result in the lost of his love.

The male lead became jealous that his girlfriend (played by the increasingly gorgeous Ryoko) taking better photographs than the aspiring photographer, when he teaches her how to take photos. She left, goes to New York, and was killed by another jealous soul.

Makoto, the hero of the story could not believe it was true, and venture to Big Apple.

There he aquitanced a Japanese-cultural freak gay drug dealer priest, who helped him to look for Shizuru, the heroin. He even passed Makoto her camera, which happend to be picked up by him.

With the camera and the photos left behind by Shizuru, Makoto relived Shizuru's life in New York, and understand what is true love, for the one woman in life had showed him but failed to receive it.

Love should be what the original English title is, A Collage of Life, two individuals becoming one. Just as Shizuru said, she want to share everything with Makoto, and would want to share every joy with him. She had no intention to make him look bad by sending in a better entry than his for a photography contest, and the reason for their separation. She wanted to share the honour with him but was rejected.

Yes, Makoto realised that in the end. He uses her name in him career, and by doing so, he could feel Shizuru with him every shot he made, but only this much. She is physically gone because of his foolishness.

Beside the main story itself, the movie also take a glimpse of Asian in New York.

At one point, a Chinese woman said, the whites regard them as the worms and stains of the Big Apple.

However, through Shizuru's photo, they are the most beautiful stain that make the city what it is.

Ponder about this, while I shall wait for the one in my life to collage with.

Main Course
My BRONCO course had started for one week, meaning that I have not touched the com for the past one week. Yet, I feel very touched that all my comrade leave a messages or two on the tag board (you know who you are...), and even some mock (a little...) about life as vehicle crew. All and all, thznkz guys (^0^)/

The past few days is a mixture of sand and fuel. Early in the morning (actually 0530) wake up, breakfast, move the the vehicle and the the of driving and wating start. I got to travel on all sort of terrain, be it flat or bumpy, sand fly up into the air, then the vbehicle. It was not as bad as Oz actually, only about 1/3 the amount. But to those who had not seen the bigger version, it was almost suffocating. The vision is once again, blocked by sand in the night. A real thrill to drive at night.

However, the main thing I learn in this course duration, is rather than how to deal with people.

If you realise, similiar type of people, be it the nice people or the pests, fall into places whereever you go. You have the "playful" ones, who always make a fool out of themselves, turning up late without fail; you have a Indian storeman, who happen to stay in Thailand for better half of his life and speak inaudible English, yet blaming you not listening properly when he sputter muffling words of spoons that sound like fruits (hey, I have ears like animals and hear very well one hor!); you also got people who idle around when you are really busy, and some who does the vice versa, and many other funny characters. (not forgetting the old men who got one whole lots of crap to spout out anytime...)

In all, these are the sample of people I will be meeting after school, or even in campus. They make up the society.

Thankz to opportunities like these, I can put my human relation skill at work. No matter how difficult or how unwilling to deal with them, you need to have their co-op to get things done.

Face it, or lose it, this is the main course of this course.

Yakitori
I mentioned a few Japanese eating place around Cuppage, and I visited another one of the few yesterday.

But why yesterday?

lou dao's project just completed and was hand-over yesterday. Quite a relieve after nearly half a year of 7 days working week, as he had to go down to site on weekends to moniter the work progress. Hence, having yesterday free, lou ma zi suggested to eat out. So, I give the reccomandation and lou dao drive.

(In case you want to know where the site is, it is a market in Ang Mo Kio Ave 10, near where i lived 6 years back, and where one of my comrades and a girl i know her finally after meeting her again at a SMU friend's volunteer camp when she was just living above me at my old place in the same area)

aharatori is the name of the place I visited. It is a yakitorispeciality reataurant. It was also featured in one of the local televison food programme, Makansutra (yah, food scripture...). As its name suggest, they serves everything tori, or chicken in Japanese. (even though is the word bird in Chinese... so it is like fry bird?)

The place is like one of those meeting place you will always see in J-drama. Liquor ads were all over, be it beer or sake, they become the wallpaper of the interior. The chef prepare the food behind the bar counter. Occasionally, you can see him exchanges words and drink with customers sitting on the counter seats.

The food is not the conventional yakitori you have with black teriyaki. They have shio or salt instead. They allows the ingredient to retain its natural flavour, and to savour the juice of the tentder meat. The meat were said be using kumpong chicken, and I definately can taste it.

They also have a lot of special ingreidents. Tried ginko nuts, chicken hearts, gissards, mushroom or tofu BBQ over fire?
NO? Go to aharatori.

And one of the most liked dish by my family is the livers. They have tons of them. They even have it raw, shashimi style.

At yes, I had a good sleep last night, all thankz to the beer I drank yesterday. I had 2 bottle, and they are all imported Janpanese beer i.e. higher alcohol content. My head was slightly spinning when I came out... But I can teel you, they were really good, much better than Tiger or any local brands. 1000 times better than those during ORD function.

Last dish we had were actually a rice dish. It was written on the menu that this dish for 2 requires 25 mins for preparation. It is riced cooked with chicken, bamboo shoots, eggs, and most importantly, a good soup base. The fragrance of the rice ooze out the moment you open the wooden cover. If the base is a little chared, it would be perfect.

Enough of me talking about the place. Go try yourself. Just come out of Centrepoint from its side exit, walk up to Cuppage, enter Cuppage Shopping Centre when you see a ramen shop, and go striaght, enter the curtain to taste the best yakitori you can find in Singapore (as you will even better one in Japan).

p.s. they charge you at $4 to $6 per serving of 2 sticks, a bit ex but definately worth the time and money.

Fustrated
Here I am, writing this blog at a LAN shop, while waiting for my family to be back. They had all went out and I, as usual, do not have the key, as I was coming back from camp.

This is, I think the only other way that I can view my blog.

Yes, the problem with the blog on my PC is still on. But this does not appear on other internet providers' user. So, the problem is SingNet. What am I to do?

Anyway, this is the first weekend after I attended my BRONCO All terrain Track Vehicle Operator course.

The famous cookhouse at School Of Armour, is feeding my stomach well. The food is much more better than my old camp. Anyway, the old cook hose is under renovation. I just hope it can get better when I return after Chinese New Year, at the end of my course.

The infamous School of 'Animal' is not really that bad. But due to the old age, we still have to sleep on those double decker, spring support sponge mattress. I really sympathize my buddy, who is having his sergeant course, and have another 2 months to go...

There is also this School Sergeant Major Major Parade yesterday. I would have thought it was just SSM passing the frist role and that is it, but this guy actually walk around every single trainee, checking their overall bearing and hairstyle. What the fuck?

And till today, I still have not really touched my vehicle.

So far, I have only done the servicing of the vehicle, i.e. getting my hand real oily, greasy and dirty. My hand is still quite stink with the smell of engine oil and my body is still feeling very sticky, AND I am still not home taking a nice shower.

Driving starts on next week.

I start to feel a little scare. I have bad psychomotor skill. I have problem even playing racing game (even I love to play...). Wish me luck...

And yes, my brother just call me to go home.

If I did not received that message, this post will be call Really Fustrated.

I change the title of the blog.

However, the main purpose is to attempt to make it open on my computor.

Most people cannot see this.

As it will just open to my blogger site instead.

If you have got the solution, tell me please.

Reunion
Just came back from my first 3-month JC class gathering. Consist of 6 girls and 4 guys, we never seems to have all of us to turn up. sigh...

We eat a late meal. Real late one, after waiting for table and all to arrive, we had our meal at ding tai fung. One of the girls brought her photos from her Thailand volunteer trip. It seemed very much different from mine. theyhave permanent toilet. But my trip use holes, one that changes every 3 days. Everything was much more remote.

But the scenery are just as great. I will like to scan in the photo one day. Like to see a sea of clouds? Be patient.

Next I went shopping with the girls (which I always do...), and even racked them up to choose clothes for me in the end.

The proposed next outing is to go for karaoke. I have never went for that for my whole my life. I mean it.

In some way, I heard a news I, sort of, never expected.

I had feeling (yah, one sided stuff again...) for one of the girls. She was sort of my ideal, short, young looking, but long hair. The detail is not necessary on what crazy thing I did.

OK, the news is that she had a relationship, but broke up 2 months later, due to the interception of the guy's ex.

Till this very moment, I am still very much confused whether to be happy or sad over that.

I see chances.

Yet, I had actually to give up, as I would like to have a ture, serious relationship in campus. It is quite imposible to maintain one when the two parties are in different environment. I feel sad this friend of mine did not find her happiness.

I have no solution to this.

Any clues, please tell me on my tag board at the end of the page.

And 191 days and counting... (i minus 1 day to make it go faster, I can't wait to go back to school)

Prejudice
We as people have hold many prejudice towards others.

Most of them is due to the misunderstanding of others. We do not others well enough to give them a fair judgment. This is one of the reason behind racism.

But the type of prejudice I have against the Indians and some of the less educated, is definitely due to misconception. I have know them far too well.

First, the Indians.

They are real shrewd people by nature. Some locals even quoted: Never trust an Indian's tongue. I fully agreed with that.

My company sergreat major is one. He bombard us with lots of promises and also punishments, but the whole company know most of them are mere blanks, with possible life rounds though.

They can be also real despicable for what they do.

Yah, I admit they are the minority in Singapore, and in any ways they try to establish their status among us Chinese.

But does that mean to stray around others bunk just to play a silly prank on someone you don't look eye to eye; or to act important when given the tiniest position to rule over others?

They are also so irritating enough to store away the VCD player in camp so the Chinese cannot occupy it for watching Chinese movie. Not to mention they lock it up to forbid our entrance into the company mess room.

These lousy Dravidian descendents, they have sure inherit a lot from their ancestors, the "peaceful" tribe that let the Aryan roll over. At least we Chinese have resisted the border tribes for hundreds of years. Or else what do you think the Great Wall is for?

Secondly, some of the lower educated.

They come in different sizes, young and old.

They first come to my resent when one of them successfully wooed the girl I had been chasing for 6 years, since Sec 1. But I myself find this stupid in the end...

What they really ick me is the way they look down on themselves. They sometime feels they are not as competent as geeks like us. They feel threatened by our presence, and will do anything to earn their place.

But honestly speaking, I have never in any ways looked down on them.

They challenge us to the use of brutal force. They think we are sissy and would be intimidated by their "magnificence". Yah, right...

We shun away in such situation not because we are scare. We know that we are the porcelain and they are the claypots. We had definitely a higher worth than them, even though we can be more delicate.

But that doesn'tt mean that we won't fight back. If we do, they will definitely regret. We just have our own way of doing so.

Not to mention that, they tends to take the tiniest advantage out of us, like getting us to do a little more of odd jobs. They feel great for every single moment of making us work more than them, which will be the other way round down the road in the real society.

More over, once they think you are suspectable to being make use of, they step one step closer.

Have you seen anyone call someone to borrow 20 bucks to cover the loss of his wallet, and later asking for 50 instead, 2 days later? I have.

You might say I hold deep prejudice against both groups, and I certainly agree. I can have every reason to hold that against them, for what they have shown to me in the past two years.

I certainly do not hate them, as I do not even have the slightest feeling for them (did you see any foul words here?).

They just give me a reflection of how dispicable man can become. Bad trait.

Rest assure, I will not start a genocide when I have the power to do so.

192 days and counting... (90+ days and the camp will be a even better place)

Gamble
Life is full of that.

But, this is the one thing I must learn to do before Chinese New Year.

In another words, to able to play mahjong by this Chinese New Year.

You may ask: huh, you, a Hongkonger, do not know how to play mahjong?

Yes, this is the shame I carried with me for the past 2 decades... Every time people ask what dialet group I am, they will ask whether I pay the game, right after knowing I am a Cantonese.

Every year at the New Year gathering, I will be standing around the mahjong tables, occupied by players that are at least 4 years my junior...

If not due to the environment in camp these days, having so much time everyday, I would not have the kick to learn this Chinese art.

However, I am still very blur about this game.

All I know is to pong when there is 3 similar tiles, chi when there is a sequences of 3, or to gang when there is four of the same tile.

Most friend would gladly teach me.

On one condition: I must play the game with real biddings.

OK, pay the course fee and learn the game.
