Mind... Absent
I have good memory, and it is rather proven by all my memorize-required subjects tat I did in.

But sometime, it just don't seems to be around.

Say, I left the wooden laddle in the pantry after frying an egg for dinner just now. Or worse, leaving the whole can of miso in the pantry... last night, and only realising it about five minute ago. My roomy actually told me about seeing the container about 5 hours back...

Why am I so easily distracted.... /(T0T)

My Turn
In the first half of the day, I spent it on maning the booth for my ECA, AnimeWorks' Hobby Kit Competition.

The initial response is bad. The original plan of recuriting from all polytechnic and university in Singapore, was down sized to only NTU and NUS in the end. No responds came from any other insitute. To make matter worse, all together, there are only a handful of entries, and a few withdraw last minute.

I find the fault in the chair-persons, who made the competition publicity only to start near the general exam period, and later the less than good liason with the partucipants.

But, admist all these, what will be the out come wif I had been the chair-person of the club? How much better or worse it would be?

I will try to take on this question, when I run for this post next year.

No More Words
As my campus life goes on, I feel myself having lesser to say about my daily life each passing day.

Is my life so boring that I took no notice of it?

Or is the daily routine lifestyle of a student injectiing numbness into me, towards the daily events around me, not being able to appreciate the little joy of having them part of the jigsaw of life.

Seasons
Singapore is one of those place that do not have four seasons. Rather boring.

Having live in a temperate country, and been to some, I realise how much seasonal changes have on the people, and it goes more than the clothes people wear.

For instance, the food. In autumn, you will have more vegetables that are better and green than other seasons.

In someplaces, they even have special sales on rainy days during the start of the summer, to 'ligthen up the mood'.

On the music level, whenever a new seasons come in, songs delpeting it will be released by any artist, if they are going to cut any singles or albums.

Take for example Mika Nakashima, one of my favourite in Japan. Late Fall '04, she release a single by the title Yuki no Hana (Snowflakes), which tells a story of the company of one's partner really warm up the weather. This Spring, she is releasing a new single, Sakura Iro Maigorou (Dance of Cherry Blossom Colour), which is a total match for the Cherry Blossom season in spring.

In someway, the seasons have a big role on the lives of people, and I longed to exprience it once more.

So Far So Good... I Think...
1st week of school, and things seems not that bad... I think...

Spent most of my time on ECA, from Tuesday right into Saturaday.

Tuesday, I went to promote the Japanese Culural Festival for my club, which was later held on Wednesday. Not much true Japanese cultural is showcased, only selling of meiji tibits and set up some games store.

On Friday, I actually went all the way down to SMU, all by myself, carrying 4 backpacks and return them to SMU. Guess who I met? One of the teachers from NYJC, who happen to work in SMU now, dealing with all these oversea volunteer works matter, and went to Chiang Rai with my team of Oversea Involvement Project. What a small world (^_^!!!

Finally on Saturday, I had my grestest challenge: choreographing a dance!!! What can I say, my price to pay dearly for being able to mingle with freshie next year as a CGL of next semester's Orientation Camp.

Then in the evening, I went down to Marina South for BBQ/steamboat buffet with my YEP members, which marks the end of our project. We had our dinner at that restaurant that is nearest to the bus stop and game arcade, and it is worth every single dollars (of the $12) we paid. There is fresh, live prawns and crabs! What more can you ask from that amount of money?

Anyway, after that, we went down to "The Durian", where we settle the birthdays of the January babies, how to use the reminders of our funds, and how often we will meet up again.

Back in hall, my dear neighbour, despite switching his HiFi volume to the lowest, still disturbed me in my sleep with his powerful bass. So, with a rather sleep yet irritated look, I ask him to turn it down, only to get a similar irritated look back at me. We had a small 'talk' (of how an efficient greeting for me to know he had came back from his cheer leading pratise at night...) and I went back to sleep, only realise in the next day, he moved the whole system out of his room.

Hey, I did not ask him to do that. He has the freedom to play it at real loud volume in the day, but the repsonsibility not to over do it in the wee hours of the night. I even advised him to put a towere under the bass to reduce the effect, but he just won't do it. Don't look at me like that... Ok?

Then again, lou ma zi called me last night, informing me that I had received a letter from Myanmar, BUT she won't allow me to go back home till Friday... how cruel... What if it isn't from Cho Cho? I would be holding empty expectation for a week... (T-T)

All and all, I still think I had a great week, so far... I think...

Brid Life
After realising that my poor result in English during my JC days had prevented me from taking a minor in translation, I went online and picked up a General Elective subject immediately.

After looking through the list of subjects, I choosed Nature Appreciation: Singapore's Bird Life.

In and other words, in a more local context, I will be studying birds and watching birds, making me a bird-man, or jiao leng in Hokkein... not a very nice way to be called.

But taking up this course will mean not only I will need to sit for a 2-hr final exam, and 3 hours lecture weekly, but I will also be going on field trips to natural reserves and parks. Definately not a bad way to earn your AUs in school.

May I soar like birds in this course.

Manpower
After 1st day of lessons, I went down to a Indian, Buddhist temple near St. Micheal Road, to meet up with one of my comrade.

Why was I there?

To help out in the packing of welfare items nad necessities into containers, that will be shipped to affected area in the recent tsunami. Lots of donations have been collected, and waiting to be pack into containers each day.

However, the people helping out in this effort, is unfortunately, diminishing.

Hence, I appeal to anyone that have seen this blog, make you way to the this temple to help out. The temple needs a lot of manpower to keep the deed going.

For direction: drop off at Boon Keng MRT station, walk down Serangoon Road, cross the canel, and you will find St. Micheal Road along the way.

For contact: call Ruijie at 91190583.

How Come
I received a book from my friends as birthday present, the last thing I expect to receive.

But this book is special. It ain't a fiction or autoboigraphy of anyone, but rather, A Short History of Nearly Everything.

Yes, that's the title, and it basically talks about things from how the universe started, and how our spieces had survive to this day, but told by the author in a less than lecture-like way.

And essentially, it is telling me how the world works, and how it might end, at least how I will End, which is one of my outmost fear in life.

Maybe, it's just time for me to face this fear in this New Year.
