We've Difference, Afterall
Like what some people said, the 1st 3 month of a relationship is really the honeymoon period. Everything look good, everything feel good, everything is perfect. However, and as unavoidable as it is, honeymoon will always end, and we have to face up with the reality of life and the difference in thoughts in each of us.
Not sure if it is fortunate or not, we are able to see a lot of difference between the two of us during our recent Bangkok trip, as well as the last month of her staying in Singapore. The way we react to adverse situation, the way we react to stranger's prescene and interaction, and even the way we eat, we have a lot of difference we need to compromise.
Compromising is not a bad thing in life. IT is the necessity of life. We are human being, each an individual with independent mindset shaped by our upbringing and inert view of things aroun us. We can never deny that no two person on Earth is same in every way. Even clones (or at least in Sci-fi movies), they are not clone in terms of behaviour actually.
What I feel now is not a matter of picking on those difference. Indeed, 8 years of age gap result in quite a different in social perception and the ways we do things. Instead of lamenting further, and end up in another quarrel, we need to sit down in a mature manner, and understand the reason behind it. Like most people say, it is important to listen, and I think this is the time I have to listen more than I speak out for my own thought.
She once mentioned in the title of one of her blog post, we are someone interlocking with each other. The word 'interlock', could well be the best way to describe the bond between us, despite how much difference we might have. It is the bond we have forged, that will bound us togehter, keep reminding ourselves that there is more important things in life we have to put our difference aside, and work very hard towards our life-long common goal.
My dream, will not just be mine, if not because she has been there to be the foundation of the castle in the air. Let the differnce be the irregular decoration on the X'mas tree of life; let its incoherence be the very beauty of our life.
I value this relationship. I hope you will pave the way for it as well.

Best Present In Life So Far
28 years old this year finally, many of my age have already gotten a stable career footing, and have even started to upgrade themselves in other professional area. For some, they have already gotten to know that special someone in life that they can see the future together.
The day itself is rather normal: get some well wishes on my phone & Facebook, as well as friends in my company; went out for lunch as I always do on Thurs, with her joining as well; stay back late at work because it�s Thurs; had a simple meal at home, not receiving any ang bao as well; gotten worried suddenly and called her regarding her immigration issue; and now, completing my annual blog post on my birthday.
In a way, too normal for a birthday celebration, but it does not matter.
More importantly for myself, I have gotten a very special present, someone whom I can see a further path in life. Ever since the day I have memories of my past, I have long for some one who can be my side, and vice versa. Companionship is not I long for, but someone who will grow with you, through thick and thins. So far, she had endure a lot of my uncalled-for worries about things, and I only pray hard that I will learn not to worry so much in future.
Then again, I worry because she matters to me, she especially.
All and all, a great year in my life has gone by, but I foresee many more greater years ahead of me. With her around, always.
