Who's Home Is It Anyway?
After seeing more birds then I have ever in in my life sofar, I finally attended the last lesson of my bird-watching elective course.

Singapore is indeed becoming more and more bird-unfriendly as years past by, and even the government may not be giving it a damn sometime.

For your info, where I lived now, Sembawang, or Senoko as it was called before, was one of those battle Nature Society of Singaproe (NSS)lost against the people on top, disgustingly.

About 10 years back, when URA decided to develop Senoko, NSS submit a report regarding that it had been habitat for a vast bird population. It is best that the area could be left untouched.

However, the question is, giving up a housing estate that can house 19000 people. So the challege if NSS can collect equal or more number of signature on a plead, the development project will cease. And NSS did collected 25000 signatures.

But judging from the fact that my family is living there now, the result is more or less self-explainary...

So, maybe the next time I see birds around my home, or as close as the balcony, I think I will ask myself one big question before chasing them away: Who's Home is it anyway?

Snowball
You never knows when works suddenly pile up behind you, and start rolling, rolling and rolls voer you like a huge snowball.

Say, 21 days before exam, 2 quizes next week, 1 oral presentation to complete, and 1 elective written assignment.

Not to mention, all these have will end only on next Thursday, 1 day after I have to rush home in the afternoon to oversee the installation of my new Internet network.

Snowball is fun to play with, but just don't ever let it roll on the ground. They GROW!

Singapore Town
I took an unintentional walk around the new, marina area, before visiting a very disappointing anime exhibition at Asian Civilsation Museum.

I really have to say, Singapore's government and private sector is doing alot to attract foreignb tourist.

When you think that nothing can be done after "The Durian" is up, you are wrong. Next to it, a huge food street, modelled after the successful, one time only one at Orchard, is underconstruction. Across the street, Marina Square is undergoing a major renovation, with most of its inside shops closed. Back along Orchard Road, a new bus service dedicated specially along the road itself for tourist.

But, are they really attraction crowd? Not really. The shopping mall in Esplanade is rather empty, with a few crowds outside along the coastline. There were a few cafe that is totally empty. The only larger crowd could only be seen around The Merlion.

Not a very good sign, perhaps. But there is hope.

Like the Singapore Tourism Board ad, The Durian did attracted attention of an ang moh women.

May the photo she took goes further then her own photo gallery.

Scent or Allergent
Ok, everyone know I have this dog like nose, smeling things no one can sometime. This also means I have lots of smels I am allergic to: the dust, the sewage, etc, etc... and they often result in more than just the sneeze and cough.

But one of the most amazing things is perfumes. There was a time when I shun that department in malls, as I don't wanna look stupid coughing in front of those sales girls of the cosmetic counters.

But until recently, something amazing happen: there is one fragrance I almost smell everyday, and at times, even when the intensity is high, I show no allergic effect.

Some scientist say humans are not only to visual beauty of opposite sex, they are also attracted to scent/odour of others. This natural scent is often at its most significant when mixed with other fragrance.

Hey... don't tell me she's the one man... The owner of the scent is the one female I have least idea of affection to...

But since my body is reacting, it may be good to find out what brand is that and ask my future girlfriend/wife use it.

And I don't mean this owner of the scent...

Ride
Every now and then, I'll need to take the not-so-competant public transport system, whether I want it or not.

During the time I spent on train, bus, etc, I often ended up reading the week's newspaper if I can get my hand on 1. If not, this is the only few time and place I can read something thoroughly. I actually finished most of my book collection using the my train ride from home to camp, and vice versa during my NS days. I ain't a reading person you know, so that is really quite a feat (^_^!!!

But, when I don't have anything to read, I ponder about things. I can think of a complete program for tutorial, doing a draft for my project, or even think of what to write to THE GAL (which until now I still have pen down the words...). When your are alone, doing nothing, it's the best time to wonder about things you normally don't have the ease to.

Then again, I think the best part is acutally observing other people on the ride, and learn a little about them, which by some chance benefit me (especially visually... imagine some of those babes...). There was this chap that was openly complaining about how some older folks are so kiasu, and make every opportunity to squeeze through everywhere. I agree, but said to myself: don't be as silly as that cork, 'cos you don't know who is eavsdorping you. It became a lesson for myself.

So, enjoy your ride.
