Day Out
1 more paper to go, and I decide to have a break. So, I went for a day out.

Took a train down to Esplanade. I enjoy my walk thru that exhibition passage. This time is no exception. Admist the quiet corridor, this time is a visual art exhibit. I really like the way the lighting is.

But why in the first place I wanna go down there? It got to do with this girl:

Who is she? Her name is Crystal Liu Yifei, the actress playing XiaoLongNu/小龙女 in the lastest version of The Return of The Condor Heros/神雕侠侣. I fell for her out of the world and frail innocent image in the on-going Chinese Paladin/仙剑奇侠传. She was backed by Jinyong/金庸, the writer of the novel the production was based on, who felt that she had all the necessary qualities to play the role of the young and innocent Xiaolongnü, despite that Yifei is only 18 now, which many deem her as too young to play the ice cold beauty.

So what does that got to do with me going down to Esplanade? I went to the the movie goods store to get the chirashi (japan realease movie flyers) of Yifei's 2004 movie, Love of May, which will in turn release in coming May 6th in Japan (yes, very matching to the theme and the season). The movie soundtrack are mostly MayDay's work, and the story also have got a lot to do with the popular Mandarin rock band. I've got the chirashi below:

After that, as I have mentioned on my tag board, I went down to Azabusabo. I had 2 items, which sort of replaced my lunch today.

1st, the soft-cream with beanpaste and shirodama. The taste is neither too sweet or too blend. It will not make you feel irritated on the throat like most of the time eatting sweet stuff. It goes really well with the cup of sencha.

2nd, I have this:

This is called mo-cha au lait. However, the hint of tea is too tiny (afterall, on the English menu, it's called mo-cha flavoured milk...). But, the combination of hot milk and tea make this a very pleasant drink. You will not get that irritation on the throat, nor the milk stinck. It's very light. And I really like the bowl it is served in.

However, despite the high standard, I still feel today was a little lackluscture as compare to my other time with gu je in Hong Kong.

Was it because I have no one to share the joy with this time, having to occupy a 4 person table, alone?

Whatever the case is, it have been a great day, and a nice start to my final preparation for my last paper this semester.

Spoil My Day
Initially, today is going to be a great day.

Do some revision in the morning, collect the T-shirt I ordered from Japan, from the post office (which was suppose to be sent to my home, however no one was there when it arrived, and I made arrangement for it to be collected near my school instead), and end my day of seeing Jeon Ji-Hyeon at IMM in her press conference for her new film, Daisy.

However, you can never expect the post office to spoil your day so badly.

I was told I can collect my package at the post office two days from my phone call arrangement on Monday. When I go down, it is not found around the counter. So the staff went into the offcie for 10 whole minutes, coming out only to tell me they have not received the package yet. He also tell me to leave my contact number behind, and will call me when it arrive. I went on to ask, by norm, around what time such delivery arrived? The staff told me that, he not too sure either. It can be either later this evening, or tommorrow.

And did I tell you that it will be considered UNDELIVERED if I don't collect it by tommorrow? And it would be whose fault?

What the fuck!? You people are from the post office, and you can't tell me when my package will arrive, who will? And though this sort of arrangement is not a norm, still ain't there suppose to be a standard of such procedure you people follow?

The governemt is getting people in the service industry to provide better service. However, if they can't even make sure the basic amenity service is doing their part, who else are they trying to push?

So, there goes the rest of my day, waiting in hall for the call. I am so not in the mood to go down to IMM now...

Damn, spoil my day.

...Have a Kit Kat
Exam is drawing near, stress level is up.

This can be reflected by the amount of snack I storing in my fridge, or at my new study haunt of Student Activity Centre/SAC (which we had to pay part of the construction fee in our misc. fee...). In my fridge: 1 x Carr's Table Water, 1 x Goldfish Cracker (yes... those you eat when u were really young...); snacks I frequent at SAC: Mars bars (sometime lunch replacement), Lay's, Calbee's potato snacks, etc...

And did I tell you that at SAC, you are cut off from the rest of the world, if you are a SingTel user?

Reading newspaper today, and realise Singapore is getting all the Japanese goodies, which Hong Kong got it before us, afterall. Azabusabo, one of those things gu jie brought me to try when I was there last year, have an outlet at Marina Square. I really love the sweet potato ice cream served there (as shown in the pic below), and I definately will go to the outlet in Singapore after exam.

(from left: the sweet potato ice-cream I ate, and the dessert gu jie ate, which i will try, too)

Also features is another cafe called Sun with Moon. The only dessert dish that have caught my eyes is called macha parfait , which is "a glass of colourful tall glass of green-tea ice-cream scooped over spongy cake, with mix of textures are some small mochi balls, crunchy flakes and green tea jelly cubes". I don't have a picture to show, but sounds good. And having it as a Suntroy subsidy, it should not have gone too far off.

Anyway, I have 2 exchange student, 1 black, 1 white (this combo is almost like those two ghost that take away your soul, in Chinese folklore), both Manchester, living next door. I have seen a number of ang mo acts from them already, such as walking to toilet with a brief only, gone out to club on Wednesday night, etc, etc.

But guess what I saw today morning, less than 15 min ago: a lady, wrapped only in blanket, came out of the male (yes, no joke) toilet of our floor, and walk back into my neighbour's room.

Holy shit!? What the hell they doing!? I know they are ang mo, but to that extent... スゲぇー (Japanese: equvalent to Singaporean saying: power siah)...

And all the aboved mentioned happened all in a matters of less than an hour (except my mentioning of my study haunt...), while I trying to have a break.

Where's my Kit Kat...

p.s. when I went out to toilet again just now... I saw that 'wrapped' lady again...

大步跨过
(Chinese: cross the obstacle easily)

lou dao went for a check up last week, after discovering a lump around his neck.

The report came back during the weekdays, and it is idetified as tumour type. However, no cancer cell is discover in his blood content. As the doctor in-charge went oversea, he have to wait till today to get a full details.

Fortunately, the report in actual shows that it's just a some blood lump, and hence no harm done. Indeed, he feel better and that it had grown smaller during the week day.

My parents will now be able to spend the progressive package on happier things such as going HK during year end, when all my 舅舅 go there for an union cum holiday.

And did I mention that sai lou want to join them too? I think he is interested because he really want to see how cousin Renita turn out after her braces removed (^_^!!!

Things is going smooth for everyone so far.

For me, not only have my GIP going smooth, I received a mail today regarding Royal Institute of Technology accepting me for the exchange programme. Though I am going o reject this one, it still goes to show I have make it to the bar of representing NTU out of Singapore.

May the trend goes on to my exam, and the rest of this year.
