kibowo no tsunami
(jap: tsunami of hope)

On 26th Dec 2004, an earthquake strike on northern Sumatra. Following that, a tsumani erupted from the epicentre, hiting near by coasts, ranging from Sri Lanka to Langkawi, with it's most serious spot at Phuket.

The result, damage that is comparable to atomic bombs, and scences from disasters movies appears in real life news report. 10's of thousands of people lost their lives in the gigantic waves that swept across the coastal area.

This is the most untimely event, yet also the most timely end to this year, a year of human conflicts.

It's time to remind ourselves that, our true enemy of humanity is none other than the nature itself. Fighting among ourselves is th silliest thing human being should do.

In some way, this tsunami brings hope of world peace, along with despiar of lives lost. May the hope of peace will be remembered by all.

Next
Watching Matrix too much cum going through monastry life for 1 day had its mark on my thoughts about life, and what happen after it.

According to the laws of physics, and Buddha's teaching, energy cannot be created or destroyed. So, when one life ends, it become another form of life, i.e. recarnation, just like the conservation of energy.

Hence, my question is: Is there anyway that this energy can be conserved, retained and transfered, without losing its original form, after its so-called death?

What's Next?

Can anyone, other than the Buddha, escape this eternal cycle and live on as what he is, forever?

This may sound scary, but I want to know how.

I think no one in the common world can tell me, but this will always be 1 thought in me, before I move on to Next.

Burmese Kids X S'pore Kids
I always observe kids when I go overseas (... and not because I'm so pedophilic sicko or what...), as they are the happiest group of resident in any places.

I did have a lot of interaction with kids this time in Myanmar, as my project site is in a school that house 3000 odds students.

In the first look, Burmese kids are rather shy, but after some warming up, they are very fun to be with. They will recognise you, call out your name whenever they saw you, and asking for your contacts as our departure draw nears. Due to my name is similar to a local singer, I sort of earn myself extra popularity and had almost a fan club by the time I left...

And being in a place where material needs had large gaps, two different types of kids were seen.

First, the well-to-do's. They spend lots of time in books, and born in better family. But when they got the chance to play, they get rather hyper and mischievious though.

Second, the born-free's. They are the more active group in school during the lunch break, running here and there. They do have their quite moment though, when doing handicraft or so, but never underestimate their strength or stamina: I almost got bruise from a pint size girl whom threw a volley ball at my tummy...

All and all, still more adorable than Singapore kids...

How Much Wider
Once again, I'm back from oversea, which is always an eye opener for me.

I did wrote a few words here & there in Myanmar, but I ain't going to re-write here.

In short, the trip itself is more than enjoyable. I went monastry, play with local kids, learn IT skill, table tennis, pop gums, went massage, and even woo a really Sweet Burmese girl, whose name mean Sweet.

Craps aside.

To me personally, life for Burmese is simple and fufiling, though ignorance. Even their Internet are blocked from majority of sites. There is huge gap between the different income groups, though they might dress the same at times. The city scape is rather 'retro', like pictures from Singapore in 70's, but being held back in time due to the coup that shaken the country rather badly.

This is like, post warring state of Japan, where contacts to the outside world is servered. However, the people still lived on like nothing had happened.

And it is only after all the exprience in life I had so far, that I can be able to see all this.

But as for how much wider I had gain in my vision from this expedition, I think it's just too early to say now.
